Leider konnte ich ihn nur dann in \u00d6sterreich backen, wenn ich gerade die \u201eGeheim Zutat\u201c Maissirup, selbst importiert aus den USA, zuhause gehabt habe. Zu meiner \u00dcberraschung gibt es Rezepte f\u00fcr klassischen Pecan Pie die ganz ohne jeglichen Sirup, Honig oder Dicksaft auskommen \u2013 n\u00e4mlich die, die es vor der Erfindung des Maissirups gab. Wie es sich f\u00fcr einen Pecan Pie geh\u00f6rt, ist die Karamellf\u00fcllung cremig und nicht zu s\u00fc\u00df, die Pekann\u00fcsse sind knackig und der Boden ist zart-knusprig. Nie wieder werde ich den (ungesunden) Maissirup aus den USA mitbringen.
